Tani Baptist Fellowship has been formed with the vision and concern to reach all the tribes under the big ethnic group of Tani or Abotani group with the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. On 28th September 2016, at ABU Mission, the possibilities of TBF was discussed which was convened by Rev. Mikim Perme and the Minutes was recorded by Bro. Maktil Apum.
The second fellowship was conducted at United Mising Baptist Church at Silapathar, Assam, wherein unanimously leaders were selected viz Mr. Biju Bori, President; Rev. Bigo Doke, Vice President, Rev. Tagang Gelo, Secretary; Mr. John Padung, Joint Secretary; Mr. Abhijit Pegu, Joint Secretary; Mr. Maktil Apum, Treasurer and Advisors Rev. Mikim Perme, Rev. Tage Donyi and Pastor Labon Pegu.
On 8th January 2017 at Lekhi Baptist Church, Naharlagun, Rev. Likha Ama dedicated the leaders to the service of the Lord. The ever first ECM was conducted at Kulajan Mission Centre, Dhemaji, Assam on 18th April 2017. Since then the incumbents are working on the mission of the Tani Baptist Fellowship.
On 14th June 2017 a introductory workshop on Origin of Tani and its origin was held at Gogamukh, Dhemaji District, Assam. TBF also has vision to do Scholarly Research about the origin of Tani group in China, Tibet and Mongolia, if it is the will of God. On 22nd August 2017, second Executive Committee was conducted at Dhemaji town Baptist Church, Assam wherein it decided to have next ECM at ABC, Pasighat.
